Let the family know you are thinking of them On the 27th day of December 1931, Herbert Alfred Mueller and Gertrude Sophia née Wendt were blessed with a son whom they named Gerald Leroy Mueller. He was born the second of two children. The family was living in Bay City, Michigan. Jerry was brought to the Lord through the Sacrament of Holy Baptism at Zion Lutheran Church of Bay City, Michigan.

He renewed his Baptismal covenant with the Triune God through the Rite of Confirmation also at Zion Lutheran Church of Bay City, under the instruction of Pastor Herman F. Zehnder. Jerry attended Zion Lutheran Elementary School and graduated from T.L. Handy High School, Bay City. He then attended Bay City Jr.

College and earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Michigan State University, East Lansing, Michigan. He volunteered for duty in the United States Air Force, serving from March 1951 until January 1955. His years of active duty took him to Brooks Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas, Elmendorf Air Force Base Anchorage, Alaska, and Grenier Air Force Base, Manchester, New Hampshire.

He attained the rank of Staff Sargent while serving his country as a Communications Specialist Supervisor. On Saturday, September 5th, 1959, Jerry was united in Holy Matrimony with Carolyn Ann Howden. The vows were exchanged at Zion Lutheran Church of Bay City. God blessed their union with five children: Jeffry Paul, Mark Allan, Cynthia Ann, Jonathan Neil and Jennifer Lynn. The family first made their home in Shorewood, Wisconsin, and through various employment opportunities relocated to Ann Arbor, Michigan, and South Bend, Indiana.

Jerry worked for: AC Spark Plug, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Bendix Aerospace Systems, Ann Arbor, Michigan, and Bendix Energy Controls Division, South Bend, Indiana. In 1995, retirement brought the couple to Kawkawlin, Michigan and in 2017 they moved back to South Bend to be closer to family. Following retirement, the Mueller's realized their dream and settled on Brissette Beach in Kawkawlin.

They graciously and regularly hosted visits from friends and family. They were especially happy when those visits were from their children and grandchildren. There were always cookies on the counter, hotdogs on the stove, a cold one in the fridge, and gas in the boat. No matter where they lived, they were active faithful members of their congregations, including Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, South Bend, Saint John's Lutheran Church, Pinconning, Michigan, and finally to St.

Paul's, Niles, MI. Jerry was faithful in worship, served on many committees, and was relied upon for his leadership. During the early morning hours of Sunday, August 13 th 2023, the Lord of life and death sent His angels to accompany his soul into the glorious paradise prepared for him by our precious Savior, Jesus Christ.

Bereaved by his earthly departure from the family circle, but rejoicing in the knowledge that he will no longer experience sorrow, pain or tears, but only joy in its fullness, are: his close friend Jean Prielipp of Stewart, Florida; his son Jeff and wife Cara of Niles Michigan (Maddison (Cole) Golden, Paige Mueller); his son Mark and wife Dena of Fredericksburg, Virginia, (Sarah (Chris) Oakley, Abigail Mueller); his daughter Cynthia and husband Joseph Bellina of Niles, Michigan (Joey, Emily and Audrey); his son Jonathan and wife Amanda of Takoma Park, Maryland (Dexter and Caden); his daughter Jennifer and husband Jude Schroeder of Greenville, North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Carolyn, who passed on March 20, 2020, his son-in-law, Stephen Crawford and his sister, Margery DesJardins. Visitation and funeral services will be held Friday, December 29, 2023 at Zion Lutheran Church, 510 W.

Ivy Avenue, Bay City, Michigan 49706. Visitation will begin at 10:00am followed by the service at 11:00am. Private inurement will be conducted at a later date at Floral Gardens Cemetery, of Bay City, Michigan. Mr. Mueller's earthly sojourn consisted of 91 years, 7 months, and 17 days. Blessed be the memory of Gerald Leroy Mueller.
