AUSTIN – Governor Abbott today delivered remarks celebrating the grand opening for Charter Communications' Spectrum Gran Vista Call Center in El Paso. The Spectrum Gran Vista Call Center is expected to create more than 900 jobs that will provide troubleshooting, billing, and customer education support via live chat to over 31 million customers.

The call center will also dramatically expand Spectrum's bilingual over-the-phone customer service support. "There are more Texans earning a paycheck today than ever before in the history of our state because world-class companies like Charter Communications are investing in Texas," said Governor Abbott.

"Texas' exceptional economic climate is fueled by reasonable regulations, lower taxes, and a highly skilled, diverse workforce. I am proud to be here today at Charter's Spectrum Gran Vista Call Center grand opening ceremony to celebrate Texas' continued economic growth. Together, we are keeping Texas the best state for business and economic opportunity in America." Joined at the ceremony by El Paso County Judge Ricardo Samaniego, El Paso Mayor Oscar Leeser, Charter Communications Vice President of Customer Operations Anabel Chavez and Group Vice President of State Government Affairs Todd Baxter, Governor Abbott touted Texas' record jobs growth and the state's distinction as the fastest growing economy in the nation.

The Governor credited Texas' continued economic success to a winning formula—comprised of lower taxes, a reasonable regulatory climate, and a dynamic workforce—developed by the State of Texas' close partnerships with businesses like Charter Communications.
