Robot guard dog can identify firearms, call police

A new robotic guard dog has been unveiled in Ferndale, Washington, by robotics company Robotic Assistance Devices (RAD). The quadruped robot, named RADDOG, was built for security purposes and can warn users against intruders.

The robot is fitted with a 180-degree camera and a firearm-detection device, which can be customized to alert local security, law enforcement or managerial staff, as well as trigger locks on electronic doors to protect staff.
