The fog is lifting across much of Southeast Georgia and along
the Florida and Georgia State line to I-10 with only a few
locations with patchy dense fog that will erode as the sun
continues to rise.
Areas of locally dense fog developing across inland portions of
northeast Florida and southeast Georgia overnight are expected to
expand in coverage during the predawn and early morning hours on
Friday, with widespread dense fog possible towards sunrise for
locations along the Interstate 10 and U.S. Highway 301 corridors.
A Dense Fog Advisory will likely be issued for portions of these
areas during the predawn and early morning hours. Dense fog is
expected to dissipate during the mid-morning hours on Friday. The
nature of the fog overnight is such that visibilities will vary
greatly over short distances. Motorists should be alert for
rapidly changing conditions through sunrise. Motorists should plan
for extended morning commute times on Friday morning. Slow down
and leave extra distance ahead of you in case a sudden stop is
needed.
