Hydrologic Outlook issued June 22 at 11:31AM CDT

Alert Icon Weather Alerts

ESFLOT

Showers and thunderstorms are expected to move across much of
northern IL this evening. Heavy rainfall rates of up to two inches
per hour will be possible with these storms as they shift east
southeastward across northern Illinois through the evening. Rainfall
amounts of this magnitude may cause instances of localized flash
flooding, along with significant rises on area streams and rivers,
some of which could
reach or exceed flood stage, especially along portions of the Rock
river.

This outlook means that elevated water levels and potential impacts
are possible, but not yet certain. Persons with interests along area
streams and rivers should closely monitor the latest forecasts.

There are currently no updates scheduled for this outlook.

What does that mean for the Pacific North West? Overall? The colder Pacific Ocean water hitting our Western shores i.e., the state of Washington will help drive potentially cooler weather this Winter.

How much cooler? They say normal weather with bouts of colder spells. Does it mean more lowland snow? Weather predicting hasn't gotten t ... Read more

The mountains got dumped on. Now, going into January, when Winter was projected to start, the weather has warmed up and seems to be staying warm thru most of the month. The mountains are still getting snow, but the projections seem to be significantly off.

The weather projections up until Winter started had suggested that we were ... Read more
