The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection has issued
an Air Quality Alert for Ground Level Ozone, from 11 AM to 11 PM EDT
Wednesday.

An Air Quality Alert means that Ground Level Ozone concentrations
within the region may approach or exceed levels that are Unhealthy
for Sensitive Groups.

Air is unhealthy for sensitive children and adults, such as those
with asthma, lung or heart disease, and older adults. Sensitive
children and adults should limit prolonged outdoor activity.

possible.

* WHERE...Portions of northern Connecticut, including the following
areas, Hartford CT, Tolland CT and Windham CT, Massachusetts,
including the following areas, Barnstable MA, Central Middlesex
MA, Dukes MA, Eastern Essex MA, Eastern Hampden MA, Eastern
Norfolk MA, Eastern Plymouth MA, Nantucket MA, Northern Bristol
MA, Southeast Middlesex MA, Southern Bristol MA, Southern Plymouth
MA, Southern Worcester MA, Suffolk MA, Western Essex MA, Western
Hampden MA, Western Norfolk MA and Western Plymouth MA, and Rhode
Island, including the following areas, Block Island RI, Bristol
RI, Eastern Kent RI, Newport RI, Northwest Providence RI,
Southeast Providence RI, Washington RI and Western Kent RI.

* WHEN...From Saturday morning through Sunday morning.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur
in poor drainage and urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Two to three inches of rainfall with locally higher amounts
are expected Saturday into Saturday night. The heaviest rain
will occur Saturday afternoon and evening which may lead to
urban and poor drainage street flooding as well as sharp
rises on rivers and streams. Some river flooding is possible.

to 2 inches in northwest Massachusetts. Ice accumulations a
trace to one quarter of an inch for the east slopes of the
Berkshires.

* WHEN...Until noon EDT today.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions.

* WHAT...Northwest winds 25 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph
expected.

* WHERE...Worcester, Hartford, Tolland, Windham, Eastern
Franklin, Eastern Hampshire, Eastern Hampden, and Northern
Middlesex Counties.

* WHEN...From noon Monday to 1 AM EDT Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects.
Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may
result.

* WHAT...Northwest winds 25 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph
expected.

* WHERE...In Connecticut, Hartford CT, Tolland CT, and Windham CT
Counties. In Massachusetts, Northern Worcester MA, Southern
Worcester MA, Northern Middlesex MA, Eastern Franklin MA, Eastern
Hampden MA, and Eastern Hampshire MA Counties.

* WHEN...From noon Monday to 1 AM EDT Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree
limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur
in poor drainage and urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Storm total rainfall of two to four inches will result in
rapid stream and small river rises. Areas of urban and poor
drainage street flooding are likely as well. Given similar
rain totals fell just a week ago, soils remain saturated and
rivers remain swollen, yielding the potential for renewed
flooding risks.
