Have you ever wondered why the chicken crossed the road? In an Atlanta suburb, it was due to an overturned semi. A semi-truck hauling around 80,000 pounds of raw rotisserie chicken overturned on Interstate 285 in Sandy Springs, Georgia, on Wednesday, police confirmed to FOX 5 Atlanta. The crash caused a seven-car pileup, including one vehicle that appeared to be overturned directly on the mound of chicken in the roadway. In addition to the thousands of pounds of chicken scattered across the interstate, police told the news station there was also a fuel spill.
The crash occurred at around 6 p.m., and the lanes were not cleared for several hours, causing a backup that stretched at least a mile. There were no reported injuries or fatalities.
