We Will Honor Our Fundamental Duty To Remember The Lives Of Our Fallen Warriors And Uphold Our Sacred Obligation To Stand By Their Surviving Families; And Whereas, The County Of Cook Having The Largest Veteran Population In This State With Over 148,000 Veterans Acknowledges The Imperative Obligation To Remember And Honor Our Gold Star Families; And Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved, That The President And The Cook County Board Of Commissioners Do Hereby Recognize September 29, 2024 As Gold Star Mother’s And Family’s Day To Honor And Remember The Sacrifices Made By The Families And Members Of The Armed Forces Who Made The Ultimate Sacrifice To Defend Freedom And Protect The United States.
