Pakistan’s Independence Day holds extreme importance for every Pakistani national who lives either Pakistan or abroad. The Pakistan Independence Day Flag Hoisting Ceremony held in the outstanding festivity of the year in the Chicago Suburbs. Hundreds of Pakistani Americans gathered in Glendale Heights, Illinois on Sunday August 14th, 2022, to celebrate the 75th Independence Day of Pakistan.

The event was held at Camera Park, located at 101 Fullerton Avenue, Glendale Heights, IL 60139 Organized by Iqbal Khan, and his team. The Organization was called PAK-US Freedom Reliance Celebrates Over 10,000 people, representing the Pakistani, Asian, and American communities, local government officials, members of the diplomatic corps and Local and American media attended the historical event.

The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, Mayor Glendale Heights Chodri M. A. Khokhar, Consul General of Pakistan Mr. Tariq Kareem along with Local officials hoisted the green-crescent-and-star, the Pakistani and American national anthems were played. The Several Mayors of Neighboring Cities including many US Congressman Attorney General of DuPage and County Treasurer sent their messages of felicitations, several members of DuPage County Board and several members of local government from Chicago North suburbs were present Including Michael Reidy, Judge McCluskey, Judge Liam Brenan, Bob Berlin, Greg Hart, Chris Dargis, Evelyn Sanguinetti, Judge Rouhy Shalabi, Sheriff James Mendrick, John Monino and many others joined the Historical event.

The organizers also took the time to honor many dignitaries and individuals. Glendale Heights Mayor Chodri M. A. Khokhar, who was the chief guest at the event, congratulated the Pakistani American on the completion of 75th years of Independence on the occasion. Mayor Khokhar said, "Our community has stood strong in the face of multiple challenges, but we are the Main partner of the American Political system." The consul general Mr.

Tariq Karim said, “Our Country Pakistan is making every effort to realize the Quaid’s vision of a modern, democratic and prosperous Pakistan.” Mr. Iqbal Khan President of PAK-US Freedom Reliance said, “I have been active for the last 30 years in DuPage County to further promote US-Pakistan relationship and to take it to new heights.” Traditional music was played throughout the event, Music program was held for the community at large and emphasized families to join and celebrate Pakistan’s Independence Day where local businesses displayed their products and lined with booths boasting everything from colorful clothes and scarves to food from the Local restaurants. Hassan Jahangir a noted Pakistani singer, enthralled the crowd with patriotic and other hit songs.

Some local artists also performed. Glendale Heights Residents and close Neighbors, friends, and media along with their families also participated in the event.
