Let the family know you are thinking of them Marianne (Vander Hayden) Van Tubbergen, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2023, at her home in Mishawaka, Indiana. Born on June 21, 1941, in South Bend, Indiana, to the late John and Sandra (Pozwilka) Vander Hayden, Marianne was a beacon of love, intelligence, and passion throughout her remarkable life. Marianne was an accomplished woman.
After graduating from Mishawaka High School, she proved herself a trailblazer in her career by owning and operating her own daycare center. Her devotion and impressive leadership skills led to her becoming the first woman to win the "Boss of the Year" award—an honor she fondly cherished. Beyond her professional achievements, Marianne treasured her role as a mother, grandmother, and sister.
She is survived by her four adoring sons, David, John, Mark, and Michael Van Tubbergen; her three cherished grandchildren, Sara, Sheldon and Dylan Van Tubbergen; and her loving sister, Carol Nauger. Her husband, Jack Van Tubbergen, preceded her in death. Every person touched by Marianne remembered her for the love she radiated, the intelligent conversations she sparked, and the passion she instilled in every pursuit.
Her legacy will forever remain in the hearts of her close-knit family and the community she so selflessly served. A memorial service will take place on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Palmer Funeral Home – Bubb Chapel, 3910 North Main Street, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
