The band Kansas is finally adding a stop in its home state to its 50th Anniversary Tour, and that stop will be Salina. An announcement on the band's website said the band was adding 20 dates to its current tour, Another Fork in the Road, with two shows, one each on March 22 and March 23, 2024, coming to the Stiefel Theatre. Drummer and original member Phil Ehart said audiences for this tour have "been spectacular" and the band is looking forward to extending it into 2024. We look forward to being able for fans in more locations to see the tour – and for people who loved it the first time to see it again,” Ehart said.
“Heck, the first 50 dates didn’t even include the state of Kansas. You know we must perform there.” Formed in 1973 in Topeka, Kansas released its debut, self-titled album in 1974, which has sold more than 500,000 units and is certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America. Kansas has seen even more success with nine total Gold or Platinum albums and two multi-Platinum singles, "Carry on Wayward Son" and "Dust in the Wind." According to the announcement, tickets for the new concert dates, go on sale at 10 a.m.
Friday, Sept. 15. For the shows at the Stiefel Theatre, ticket prices begin at $59 and can be found at the theater's website, www.stiefeltheatre.org/tickets. Information for other shows on this tour can be found at www.kansasband.com/tour-dates/.
