The Purple Guys has acquired managed service providers (MSPs) Advantex and Herrod Technology to expand its presence in Texas, according to a prepared statement. No financial terms for the transaction were released. These are technology M&A deals numbers 237 and 238 that MSSP Alert and sister site ChannelE2E have covered so far in 2023, respectively. The Purple Guys, founded in 1994, is based in Shreveport, Louisiana.

The company has 174 employees listed on LinkedIn. The Purple Guys' areas of expertise include cybersecurity and managed services. Advantex, founded in 2002, is based in Dallas, Texas. The Purple Guys Extends Its Capabilities in Key Texas Markets Advantex and Herrod allow The Purple Guys to enter the Houston market and build density and add service capabilities in Dallas and its surrounding communities, The Purple Guys indicated. Furthermore, The Purple Guys will continue to focus on organic growth, business optimization initiatives and strategic add-on acquisitions, the company noted.

By doing so, The Purple Guys looks poised to further extend its reach in the central portion of the United States. A Closer Look at The Purple Guys' Acquisition Strategy The Purple Guys' acquisition strategy emphasizes building scale and density within its core geographies and adding vertical and technical expertise, CEO Kevin Cook stated. Moving forward, The Purple Guys remains "highly focused on partnering with like-minded businesses with the same drive to provide market-leading technology solutions to the [small and medium-sized business] community," Cook indicated. The Purple Guys has completed eight acquisitions dating back to 2020.

It continues to explore acquisition opportunities in the hopes of becoming a leader in every market it serves, Cook said.
