FALL CITY, Wash. — Early Monday morning, our community was rocked by a heartbreaking tragedy when five people were killed in a home here in Fall City. The King County Sheriff's Office (KCSO) took a teenager into custody following the incident. Another teen, believed to be related to the suspect, was helped by a neighbor and taken to Harborview Medical Center for treatment. Thankfully, she's in stable condition.
It all happened around 4:55 a.m. in the Lake Alice neighborhood, where several 911 calls reported a shooting. When deputies arrived, they found two adults and three children dead inside the home. The suspect, a local high school-aged teen, is expected to face first- or second-degree murder charges.
The Snoqualmie Valley School District confirmed that at least two of the victims were school-age, though they didn’t attend local schools. Still, the district is offering counseling for students and staff throughout the week, understanding how deeply something like this affects everyone.
Neighbors said a family with five children lived in the house. Lynne Trowern, who lives nearby, was visibly shaken. "I'm in total shock," she said. "I keep breaking down. I can't stay here alone right now because I keep seeing the kids' faces."
King County Deputy Mike Mellis shared that this looks like a domestic violence situation, and there's no ongoing threat to the community. The investigation scene is "self-contained," but it will take a long time to process. The Washington State Patrol’s Crime Scene Response Unit has been called in to help, and it’s clear this will be a painstaking process.
When asked about the situation, Sheriff Patricia Cole-Tindall said she was deeply saddened and disturbed by what had happened in our town.
