The City of North Bend is working with the North Bend Amateur Radio Emergency Services (ARES) Team to troubleshoot a local flashing sign "warning" system. Testing of the system will occur on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, so residents are advised to disregard any flashing warning signs they see on that day. There are six signs in North Bend and two in Snoqualmie that use a radio signal to activate the lights during emergencies. However, there have been issues with turning off the lights after an emergency or test. Troubleshooting will address this problem. The City encourages residents to sign up for the King County ALERT System, which provides important information about local events or emergencies via telephone, text, and email. For any questions or concerns about flashing warning signage, residents can contact Communications Manager Bre Keveren by phone or email.
