The Shoshone Falls in Southern Idaho are best seen during spring, particularly from now through June when the flows peak due to spring runoff and reservoir releases. Currently, the waterfall is estimated to have flows of around 4,000 cubic feet per second (CFS), which may increase further before dropping significantly when water is diverted for irrigation. It's advised to visit before the irrigation season starts to avoid disappointment when there is little to no water flowing over the falls. The enhanced flows also improve boating and kayaking downstream in open areas.
