WSU Police confirms Global Scholars resident had knife

A report of a man with a knife at Global Scholars Hall led to an officer firing a shot at John Bazan, a 20-year-old resident and WSU student. Bazan was not hit by the bullet but was taken into custody for obstructing an officer and transported to the hospital for evaluation. An investigative team will look into the incident, and the involved officer is on administrative leave.
