Downriver Park River Access Area Now Open

The City of Spokane has reopened Downriver Park with an improved small watercraft access area following the completion of the Cochran Downriver Stormwater Management Facilities construction project. The project aimed to enhance river health by minimizing pollution from stormwater runoff. The collaboration between Public Works and other departments also led to upgrades at Downriver Golf Course and a renovated disc golf course. The Cochran Basin Stormwater Facility project provides various amenities, including a renovated non-motorized watercraft access area, expanded parking, an information kiosk, natural habitat area, and improved trail access. The City of Spokane Parks & Recreation manages numerous properties and offers diverse recreational opportunities for the community.
