The Spokane Police Department has arrested a homicide suspect wanted for second-degree murder. The suspect, Gunnar M Doughty, was located at a home in the 2200 block of N. Morton with the help of the U.S. Marshals. The arrest is related to a shooting incident that occurred on February 2nd, where the victim, Dylan McCorkle, was found dead in a yard. Law enforcement successfully evacuated other occupants from the home before attempting to get Doughty to surrender. After hours of unsuccessful verbal requests, drones and robots were used to search the home and confirm that Doughty had barricaded himself in a crawl space. Chemical munitions were then used to encourage his surrender, which resulted in his arrest without further incident. Doughty has been booked into the Spokane County Jail on charges of second-degree murder and unlawful possession of a firearm. The investigation is ongoing with Major Crimes detectives.
