SPD Officer Involved Shooting

Spokane Police Officers were involved in an officer-involved shooting in the early hours of Monday morning. The incident occurred after multiple calls were received reporting a woman being shot at a home. Officers arrived at the scene and helped an unarmed male escape from the house, who informed them that there was still a shooter inside with a female victim. Concerned for her safety, officers entered the home and encountered a male with a firearm, resulting in an exchange of gunfire. The suspect was incapacitated and pronounced dead at the scene, while the female victim was rescued and taken to the hospital for treatment. Three SPD officers fired their weapons during the incident and will be placed on administrative leave as per protocol. The investigation will be conducted by the Spokane Independent Investigative Response (SIIR) team, which includes multiple agencies in eastern Washington.
