In Spokane, Washington, an adult and two minors were charged with felonies for riding scooters over an LGBTQ+ crosswalk mural. The police witnessed the damage being done and arrested the individuals for malicious mischief. The scooter rental company, Lime, declared a no-go zone to protect the mural from further harm. The company strongly condemned the acts of hatred committed via scooter wheels and expressed support for Pride Month celebrations. Spokane Pride raised funds to repair the damage caused by the vandalism. This incident follows previous damage to the mural, which had been recently resurfaced due to arson in May.
