Carole Tilson Obituary

Carole June Tilson, a long-time Torrance resident and dedicated Parent Teacher Association volunteer, passed away on January 16, 2006. She resided in Torrance for 46 years and was actively involved with the PTA for 40 years. Carole was born in Tacoma, Washington in 1935 and had a notable background in rifle shooting during her high school years. She moved to Torrance in 1959 after marrying Warren Tilson, who tragically lost his life during the 1965 Watts Riots. Carole raised her son as a single mother and became deeply engaged in volunteering for youth activities like Little League. She retired from Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG's US division after working there for 20 years. Carole is survived by her son, daughter-in-law, two grandchildren, and two brothers. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 21st at Halverson Stone & Myers Mortuary Chapel.
