Columbia Banking: 2Q Earnings Snapshot

Columbia Banking System Inc., based in Tacoma, Washington, reported second-quarter net income of $41.7 million, with earnings of 57 cents per share. Adjusted earnings were 60 cents per share, falling short of Wall Street expectations of 66 cents per share. The bank's revenue was $144.2 million, below analyst forecasts of $143 million. Columbia Banking shares have decreased by over 4% since the start of the year.
