Roberta Byrd Barr was a prominent figure in the civil rights movement in Seattle, Washington. She was involved in challenging racial inequality in public education and played a key role in organizing the Black Community boycott of the Seattle Public School District in 1966. Barr was one of the first Black principals in the Seattle Public School District and made significant contributions to advancing racial equality and fighting discrimination throughout her career.
