A A+ A++ A+++
Montserrat Romero-Rocha, a 12th-grade student from Lincoln High School in Tacoma, Washington, embarked on an 11-day trip to China as part of an exchange program. The trip included cultural experiences like trying Chinese hotpot, visiting historical sites such as the Forbidden City and St. Joseph's Church, and learning Tai Chi on Wudang Mountain. Romero-Rocha was inspired by her sister's previous visit to China and the invitation extended by Chinese President Xi Jinping. The exchange program aims to foster cross-cultural understanding between American and Chinese youths. Students also had the opportunity to engage in activities like playing table tennis with Olympic Champion Ding Ning at Peking University. These exchanges help students appreciate shared values and strengthen ties between the two nations.
