Obituary: Elaine Wilma Steiger

Elaine Wilma Steiger, aged 87, passed away on December 9, 2023. She was living at the Renaissance Senior Care in Great Falls, MT. Elaine was born on July 16, 1936, in Bluegrass, North Dakota. She worked on the family farm and eventually moved to Bismarck, ND. She married Emil Steiger and they lived in Great Falls. They adopted their daughter Janet Marie from the Blackfeet Reservation and later adopted their great-grandson Micah Thomas. Elaine worked in food services at the College of Great Falls and Deaconess Hospital until retirement. She had many friends at work and her church community at Calvary Baptist Indian Church. Elaine enjoyed volunteering in the nursery. She is survived by her daughter Janet Nielsen, grandsons Christopher Steiger, George Miller Jr., Jade LaBoucane, Devon LaBoucane; granddaughter Renee Miller; six great-grandchildren Micah Steiger, Peyton Perucca, Brystol Perucca, Taylor LaBoucane; two great-great-granddaughters Helena Steiger and Lainee Steiger.
