The Chief Redheart Memorial Ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, April 20, 2024, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Fort Vancouver National Historic Site in Vancouver, Washington. The event is organized by the Nez Perce Tribe to honor Chief Redheart's band, who were unjustly imprisoned at Fort Vancouver in 1877-78. The ceremony includes singing, a drum circle, and recognition of veterans. It is free and open to the public and supported by various organizations including the Community Military Appreciation Committee, The Historic Trust, National Park Services, and the City of Vancouver.
