The Washington State University (WSU) baseball team celebrated Mother's and Senior Day with special events, including senior players' families throwing out first pitches and a senior playing the National Anthem on guitar. Despite the festive atmosphere, WSU lost to USC 10-3 in their final home game of the season. Senior Duke Brotherton struggled on the mound, and the Cougars couldn't generate enough offense to overcome USC's lead. The loss puts WSU's postseason hopes in jeopardy as they head to Eugene for their final regular-season series against Oregon, needing to surpass UW in the standings for a chance at the Pac-12 baseball tournament. Head coach Nathan Choate was absent due to surgery, adding further challenges for the team as they face a tough road ahead.
