Flood Watch issued January 11 at 3:18AM EST until January 13 at 7:00PM EST

* WHAT...A widespread 2 to 4 inches of rain fell Tuesday Night into
Wednesday morning combined with rapid snowmelt. This resulted in
numerous rivers and streams going into flood or expected to go
into flood within 24 hours from the residual runoff. In addition...
another widespread 1 to 2 inches of rain is expected Friday night
into early Saturday. This may exacerbate current river and stream
flooding and/or result in additional flooding. Therefore...the
Flood Watch has been extended through Saturday.Dooley

* WHERE...Portions of northern Connecticut, including the following
areas, Hartford CT, Tolland CT and Windham CT, Massachusetts,
including the following areas, Central Middlesex MA, Eastern Essex
MA, Eastern Franklin MA, Eastern Hampden MA, Eastern Hampshire MA,
Eastern Norfolk MA, Eastern Plymouth MA, Northern Bristol MA,
Northern Middlesex MA, Northern Worcester MA, Southeast Middlesex
MA, Southern Bristol MA, Southern Plymouth MA, Southern Worcester
MA, Suffolk MA, Western Essex MA, Western Franklin MA, Western

possible in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal
waterways (5.3 to 9.4 feet Mean Lower Low Water).

* WHERE...Washington, Southern Bristol MA, Southern Plymouth MA,
Southeast Providence RI, Eastern Kent RI, Bristol RI, and
Newport RI Counties.

* WHEN...From Saturday morning through Saturday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding can be expected across low-lying
areas of Newport, Middletown and Portsmouth. Several immediate
coastal roads will be impassable for a few hours around time
of high tide. Minor beach erosion on the south side of Newport
is possible.

* WHERE...Pawtuxet River at Cranston.

* WHEN...Until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 14.5 feet, Evacuations are likely near the Pawtuxet
river in Warwick and Cranston. Both homes and businesses will be
impacted from this flood event. Businesses and homes will be
impacted on streets including but not limited to the following, in
Warwick, Pioneer Avenue, Bellows Street, Venturi Avenue and River
Street. In Cranston, Wellington Avenue and Avery Road. In West
Warwick, Daisy Street, the lower ends of Canna, Begonia and Aster
Streets, and portions of Providence Street to Route 2.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 3:45 AM EST Thursday the stage was 14.0 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 9.0 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 3:45 AM EST Thursday was 14.1 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall to 11.7 feet early
Sunday morning.
- Flood stage is 9.0 feet.

- Very wet antecedent conditions and one hour flash flood
guidance below an inch and a half combined with the
potential for an additional 2-4 inches of rain to fall will
result in renewed flooding concerns, particularly in
communities who received more than 3 inches of rain on
Tuesday.
