Snow showers will gradually move out of the area this evening,
however slippery travel conditions remain likely. Brief
reductions in visibility are possible due to blowing snow, as
northwesterly winds remain elevated. This is especially the case
in rural areas. Drivers are encouraged to slow down and allow
extra time when commuting. Sub-freezing lows in the 20s overnight
will keep the potential for icy spots on the roadways through the
Thursday morning commute.
Scattered snow showers will continue this evening, with minor
accumulations possible. The combination of gusty northwest winds
and falling snow will continue to create brief reductions in
visibility. Area webcams show that snow has starting to stick on
roads due to sub-freezing road temperatures. Drives are
encouraged to slow down and allow extra time when commuting this
evening. Bridges and overpasses are especially prone to becoming
icy and slick.

Surface weather stations and MNDOT road cameras reveal that areas
of patchy dense fog are present across portions of central and
southern Minnesota. This fog should dissipate during the late
morning morning but light winds and our low November sun angle
may delay its dissipation. Until fog dissipates, expect reduced
visibility and hazardous driving conditions. If driving, slow
down, user your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of
you. Check 511mn.org for current road conditions.
