A A+ A++ A+++

If you're not a skier or get up to Snoqualmie Summit much, I wanted to share the experience that a lot of us take for granted.

Over the last two weeks, Snoqualmie has had one storm after the next to come thru. This is fairly typical for late February and early March. Even if you are a skier, these periods of continuous snowfall are awesome to see.  Having read reports on the rest of the US, the PCN has the most snow in the country right now. Most ski resorts never have this much snow pile up. Even in Colorado and Utah where you'd think they would get more snow, the PNW beats them out year after year. Typical PNW snow isn't as nice to ski on because it's usually much heavier with a high moisture content making it hard and crustier as it is continually freezing and thawing.

It's pretty obvious on a Saturday that all the skiers have been tracking the storms because there is a lot more traffic in the mornings going to Snoqualmie than on other weekends.

The first picture is of driving down Mainstreet at the Summit. The Mt side in the back is that of Alpental. The second picture is of a building behind the cars, in the Snoqualmie West parking lot of a building completely covered in snow.
