It just doesn't seem to stop... I've gotten to the point where I'm not caring about all of these additional need issues. It just doesn't ever end. Our property taxes have doubled since owning our home, and most of the services that we pay for have gotten worse, not better. When King county starts using our money efficiently, they'll realize that money is never the issue - they have more than enough. King County - show us that as a group of elected officials spending our money, you understand that money doesn't solve problems - solutions do. Start using what you have - this drunken sailor mentality has to end.
Vote No on this special election Prop 1 issue - No new taxes.
Proposition No. 1
Crisis Care Centers Levy
The King County Council passed Ordinance 19572 concerning funding for mental health and substance use disorder services.
If approved, this proposition would fund behavioral health services and capital facilities, including a countywide crisis care centers network, increased residential treatment; mobile crisis care; post-discharge stabilization; and workforce support. It would authorize an additional nine-year property tax levy for collection beginning in 2024 at $0.145 per $1,000 of assessed valuation, with the 2024 levy amount being the base for calculating annual increases in 2025-2032 under chapter 84.55 RCW, and exempt eligible seniors, veterans, and disabled persons under RCW 84.36.381.

Pretty soon, King County will need an ordinance passed to deal with taxpayer mental health and wellness issues. The anxiety and stress created at this level of taxation and the absolute waste of our tax dollars have created widespread taxpayer problems. When are our burdens going to take into consideration? When the government keeps increasing taxes to keep itself employed, we're in trouble.
