Asotin County, as well as the Colville Reservation is in effect until
further notice, due to expected smoke from nearby and regional
wildfires. Particulate matter (PM2.5) may reach Unhealthy and
Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups levels.
Health Impacts and Recommended Actions: When air quality is Unhealthy,
everyone should reduce exposure. When air quality is Unhealthy for
Sensitive Groups, sensitive groups should take steps to reduce
exposure. Limit time outside, avoid strenuous outdoor activity, and
follow tips for cleaner indoor air. Everyone should watch for
symptoms as a sign to reduce exposure.
Agricultural and outdoor burning restrictions are in effect.
* WHAT...Very hot temperatures. Friday's high temperatures 102 and
108 with up to 112 degrees around Lewiston. Saturday's high
temperatures 95 to 101 with up to 105 at Omak.
* WHERE...Portions of North and North Central Idaho and Central,
East Central, North Central, Northeast, and Southeast Washington.
* WHEN...Until 8 PM PDT Saturday.
* IMPACTS...Heat will increase the risk of heat-related illnesses,
especially for those without effective cooling or adequate
hydration.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Overnight temperatures will be well above
average with some areas staying above 80 degrees well into the
night. Homes without air conditioning will struggle to cool
overnight.

be strongest for the Western Columbia Basin in the late
afternoon and evening hours. The winds will be strongest for
the Lower Palouse Snake River area during the afternoon.

* Impacts: The combination of gusty winds, low relative humidity
values, hot temperatures, and dried fuels could lead to rapid
fire spread on existing or new fires.
