Interstate 65 forms the eastern edge of the town, with access from Exit 322. Decatur, the Morgan county seat, is 18 miles (29 km) to the north, Huntsville is 40 miles (64 km) to the northeast, and Cullman is 14 miles (23 km) to the south. According to the U.S.
Census Bureau, the town of Falkville has a total area of 3.8 square miles (9.8 km2), of which 0.02 square miles (0.05 km2), or 0.47%, are water. The town is drained by Robinson Creek and Painter Branch, west-flowing tributaries of Flint Creek, a north-flowing tributary of the Tennessee River.
