We would like to provide the residents of  Watson  a basic history overview.


Welcome to the Watson Home page. The Watson Home page provides as much information as possible on Watson. Knowing Watson’s history is essential to guiding its future. Within Watson’s Home page, you will also find Watson’s Founders, Holiday, and Birthday sections.

Watson has a population of 208. 45.2% of Watson’s inhabitants are Male, and 54.8 are female. 65.7% of Watson is married and 94.3% own their own home. Household median income in Watson is $27,014, and the individual median income is $16,042. Watson’s Ethnic is the following: White(73.1%), Black(26.9%).


In 1992, the Union Pacific Railroad discontinued service on a rail line which ran directly through Watson, and a 73 mi (117 km) right-of-way on which the rail line ran was donated to the State of Arkansas. Parts of the abandoned rail line have since been converted into the Delta Heritage Trail. The portion of the trail passing through Watson is still under construction.


A wilderness lies to the north of the town, where the trail will have views of the Arkansas River (from the Yancopin Bridge), and of the White River (from the Benzal Bridge). Between the bridges, the trail is planned to traverse old-growth hardwood forest within the Trusten Holder State Wildlife Management Area.
