The average household size was 1.71 and the average family size was 2.80. In the town, the population was spread out, with 16.9% under the age of 18, 3.1% from 18 to 24, 30.8% from 25 to 44, 30.8% from 45 to 64, and 18.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 44 years. For every 100 females, there were 124.1 males.
For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 107.7 males. The median income for a household in the town was $25,938, and the median income for a family was $36,667. Males had a median income of $22,500 versus $27,000 for females. The per capita income for the town was $16,343. There were 11.1% of the families and 14.5% of the population living below the poverty line, including none under eighteen and 20.0% of those over 64.
