The average household size was 2.23 and the average family size was 2.85. In the city, the population was spread out, with 21.7% under the age of 18, 7.1% from 18 to 24, 24.0% from 25 to 44, 22.6% from 45 to 64, and 24.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 43 years. For every 100 females, there were 84.6 males.

Males had a median income of $32,750 versus $21,964 for females. The per capita income for the city was $17,971.
