Templeville has a population of 170. 45.9% of Templeville’s inhabitants are Male, and 54.1 are female. 58.6% of Templeville is married and 49% own their own home. Templeville’s Ethnic is the following: Hispanic(77.1%), Other(49.4%), White(33.5%), Native(11.2%), Multiple(5.9%).


Templeville is named after the Temple family. The Temple family resided in Maryland from the mid-1700s. It is believed the Temple plantation was located where Templeville and the surrounding area is today. A small, private cemetery for the Temple family can be found just outside Templeville. Some of the tombstones are still legible, although time has taken its toll on them.


The most famous member of the Temple family was William Temple, Governor of Delaware. He was the youngest governor to serve in Delaware in all of its history. He was born in Maryland and moved to Smyrna, Delaware at the age of 18.
