A period of moderate to heavy rain is expected through Friday as
low pressure moves up the coast. The rain will fall on a primed
snowpack leading to significant melt. The combination of rain and
snowmelt will increase flows in rivers and streams, some of which
could reach critical levels.
* WHAT...Flooding caused by rain and snowmelt continues to be
possible.
* WHERE...Portions of south central, southwest, west central, and
western Maine, including the following areas, in Maine, Central
Interior Cumberland. In south central Maine, Coastal Waldo,
Interior Waldo, Kennebec, Knox, Lincoln, Sagadahoc and Southern
Somerset. In southwest Maine, Androscoggin and Coastal Cumberland.
In west central Maine, Central Somerset. In western Maine,
Interior Cumberland Highlands, Southern Franklin and Southern
Oxford.
* WHEN...Through Friday evening.
* IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding
may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.
A period of heavy rain is expected on Saturday as low pressure
moves up the coast. This period of heavy rain may be sandwiched in
between mixed precipitation Friday night and again Saturday evening
and night. However, up to 2 inches of rain on cold ground may cause
urban and small stream flooding.
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
* WHERE...Portions of Maine, including the following areas, Coastal
Cumberland, Coastal Waldo, Coastal York, Knox, Lincoln and
Sagadahoc and New Hampshire, including the following areas,

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
* WHAT...For the Dense Fog Advisory, visibility of a quarter-mile or
less in dense fog. For the Wind Advisory, west winds 20 to 30 mph
with gusts up to 50 mph expected.
* WHERE...In Maine, Central Interior Cumberland, Sagadahoc,
