NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. – Saint Joseph's College closed out the 2023 NCAA DIII Men's Golf Championship in 43rd place with a two-day 674 (343-331) score at the Keene Trace Golf Club on Wednesday. SJC senior Trevor Flanagan (Monmouth, Maine) paced the Monks with a 158 (80-78) card while sophomore Drew Mathieu (Windham, Maine) posted a 162 (81-81), senior Sean McDonough (Concord, N.H.) shot a 170 (90-80), freshman Dante Ceppetelli (Dover, N.H.) recorded a 186 (94-92), and sophomore Alex Beecher (South Portland, Maine) notched a 193 (92-101) on the challenging course. For the Monks, Wednesday's performance concludes the team's 2023 NCAA DIII Championship – and the 2022-23 season - as only the top 18 teams advance to the final two rounds.

Out of the six New England Region programs competing on the Kentucky course, none advanced to the final rounds. Among New England institutions, Endicott College was 26th (606), Middlebury tied for 28th (608), Husson University 31st (612), followed by Eastern Connecticut (614), Salem State University 40th (643) and Saint Joseph's 43rd (674). The top 18 teams and the first six players not hailing from a qualifying team advance to play the final two rounds Friday and Saturday.

Tied for 25th with a one-over 145 score, Eastern Connecticut's Ashton Lewis and Sean McGarrity of Middlebury College are the lone qualifiers from New England institutions.
