Bangor has a population of 2135. 45.3% of Bangor’s inhabitants are Male, and 54.7 are female. 50.3% of Bangor is married and 67.5% own their own home. The Average Home price is $81,923, and the average rent is $675. Household median income in Bangor is $46,458, and the individual median income is $24,844. Bangor’s Ethnic is the following: White(67%), Hispanic(40.6%), Multiple(20.6%), Black(6.4%), Other(3.2%), Asian(2.4%), Native(0.4%).


As of the census of 2000, there were 1,933 people, 722 households, and 487 families living in the city. The population density was 995.4 inhabitants per square mile (384.3/km2). There were 804 housing units at an average density of 414.0 per square mile (159.8/km2). The racial makeup of the city was 75.58% White, 12.73% African American, 1.09% Native American, 0.21% Asian, 7.92% from other races, and 2.48% from two or more races.


Hispanic or Latino of any race were 12.16% of the population. There were 722 households, out of which 35.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 42.2% were married couples living together, 20.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 32.5% were non-families. 28.1% of all households were made up of individuals, and 13.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.


The average household size was 2.66 and the average family size was 3.23. In the city, the population was spread out, with 30.7% under the age of 18, 10.1% from 18 to 24, 25.9% from 25 to 44, 19.8% from 45 to 64, and 13.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 33 years. For every 100 females, there were 89.9 males.


For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 82.2 males. The median income for a household in the city was $28,165, and the median income for a family was $34,500. Males had a median income of $27,159 versus $20,850 for females. The per capita income for the city was $14,925. About 13.2% of families and 16.3% of the population were below the poverty line, including 19.3% of those under age 18 and 16.2% of those age 65 or over.
