Newark has a population of 281917. 48.9% of Newark’s inhabitants are Male, and 51.1 are female. 30.8% of Newark is married and 23.5% own their own home. The Average Home price is $254,695, and the average rent is $1,116. Household median income in Newark is $37,476, and the individual median income is $23,426. Newark’s Ethnic is the following: Black(49.5%), Hispanic(36.7%), White(26.8%), Other(14.8%), Multiple(6.6%), Asian(1.8%), Native(0.4%), Pacific(0.1%).


Newark ( NEW-ərk, locally [nʊəɹk]) is the most populous city in the U.S. state of New Jersey and the seat of Essex County and the second largest city within the New York metropolitan area. As of the 2020 United States census, the city had a population of 311,549, an increase of 34,409 (+12.4%) from the 277,140 counted in the 2010 census.


The Population Estimates Program calculated a population of 307,220 for 2021, making it the nation's 66th-most populous municipality.Settled in 1666 by Puritans from New Haven Colony, Newark is one of the oldest cities in the United States. Its location at the mouth of the Passaic River (where it flows into Newark Bay) has made the city's waterfront an integral part of the Port of New York and New Jersey.


Today, Port Newark–Elizabeth is the primary container shipping terminal of the busiest seaport on the U.S. East Coast. Newark Liberty International Airport was the first municipal commercial airport in the United States, and today is one of its busiest.Several companies have their headquarters in Newark, including Prudential, PSEG, Panasonic Corporation of North America, Audible.com, IDT Corporation, Manischewitz and AeroFarms. A number of higher education institutions are also in the city, including the Newark campus of Rutgers University (which includes law and medical schools and the Rutgers Institute of Jazz Studies); University Hospital (formerly the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey which included the schools of medicine and dentistry now under Rutgers University); the New Jersey Institute of Technology; and Seton Hall University's law school.


The United States District Court for the District of New Jersey is also located in the city. Local cultural venues include the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, Newark Symphony Hall, the Prudential Center, The Newark Museum of Art, and the New Jersey Historical Society. Newark is divided into five political wards (East, West, South, North and Central) and contains neighborhoods ranging in character from bustling urban districts to quiet suburban enclaves.


Newark's Branch Brook Park is the oldest county park in the United States and is home to the nation's largest collection of cherry blossom trees, numbering over 5,000.
