Rosamond M. “Ronny” Toomey, long-time resident of Manchester and teacher at Manchester High School, passed away on Thursday, August 28, at the Manchester Manor. She was 103 years old. Mrs. Toomey was born on October 16, 1910 in South Portland, Maine, the daughter of Philip S. and Mae (Bowen) Melcher. She graduated valedictorian of the Class of 1929 from South Portland High School, and was Phi Beta Kappa at Bates College, Class of 1933.
