Navy football player Xavier McDonald glad he shared story of difficult upbringing

Two years ago around the Thanksgiving holiday, Xavier McDonald opened up and shared a personal story that not many people knew about.

McDonald talked about an extremely difficult upbringing in St. Petersburg, Florida, when both of his parents were incarcerated. He discussed the challenge of trying to play multiple varsity sports, while also working 30 to 35 hours a week and taking care of four younger siblings.
