TEMPE, Ariz. — Xavier Guitierrez walked through the Arizona Coyotes’ preseason fan fest as it was about to start in late October, surveying the scene.

The annual event was being held at Main Event, where fans could bowl, play arcade games and compete in laser tag with players. There was a kids Q&A with a press conference feel and, of course, an autograph section, for which there was a lengthy line before the 10 a.m. event.

The Tribune Chronicle and The Vindicator have promoted two staff members to fill editor positions.

Greg Macafee, who formerly served as Tribune Chronicle and Vindicator sports editor, has transferred from sports into a news position as metro editor.

Macafee will help supervise news reporters, make assignments and edit stories daily.
