Lakeview girls basketball's Timberlyn Washington voted as Alexandria's athlete of the week

Lakeview freshman girls basketball Timberlyn Washington is the Town Talk's athlete for the week of Jan. 31-Feb. 6.

Last week, Washington averaged 16 points and 5.5 steals to lead the Lady Gators to wins over Many and Opelousas.

With fellow freshman Ja'Naiya Fisher and senior Jameisha Fisher sharing duties with Washington in the backcourt, Lakeview (23-2) is battling for the No. 2 spot in Class 2A with Avoyelles Charter and Rayville.
