Kansas man sentenced for killing ex-girlfriend and burying her in shallow grave

OMAHA, Neb. (TCD) — A Kansas man will spend the rest of his life behind bars for fatally shooting his ex-girlfriend, burying her body in a shallow grave in another state, and fleeing to Central America.

KETV-TV reports Aldrick Scott was sentenced May 30, about two months after he was found guilty of first-degree murder, use of a weapon, and tampering with evidence for the November 2022 killing of Cari Allen. The judge also handed him a sentence of 45 to 60 years for the last two charges, plus 532 days of time served.

Kansas set to spend $6M for safer streets, roads

TOPEKA, Kansas — Six Kansas communities have secured nearly $5 million in federal Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) funding from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) Program.
