Sterling Heights celebrates installation of city's first bike lanes in pilot program

The City of Sterling Heights recently celebrated the completion of a bike lane along a 2.3-mile stretch of Plumbrook Road. City officials celebrated the occasion as it’s the first bike lane to be installed in Sterling Heights, Michigan’s fourth largest city.The stretch of Plumbrook Road from Utica to 17 Mile roads was selected in part because of the corridor’s lighter traffic load compared to other roadways in the city. Alexander Morris, lead singer of the legendary Four Tops, has filed a federal lawsuit against Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital in Warren, Michigan, alleging racial discrimination after staff members assumed he was “delusional” when he claimed he was part of the iconic group and placed him in a straitjacket.

Morris, 53, who joined the Four Tops in 2018, went to the hospital on April 7, 2023, with “clear symptoms of cardiac distress.”
