Last week’s massive Arctic outbreak is now being called a “100-Year,” or “once-in-a-generation” event. During one of the busiest holiday travel times, about 5,300 flights were canceled and major highways were closed in parts of the northern U.S.

Car collides into front of building in Soldotna

Soldotna, Alaska (KINY) - On Saturday, Alaska State Troopers were notified that a passenger car had driven into a private business.

The investigation determined that the car had collided into the front of the business Outlaw Paint and Body, at 6:25 p.m.

It caused a large amount of damage before fleeing the scene.

Troopers identified and located the vehicle in Homer after it fled the area.

Troopers made contact with 28-year-old Joseph Newton, a Nikiski resident.
