Born as Maura Jo Snyder in Springfield, Massachusetts on April 27, 1972, she is the youngest among four siblings. Maura grew up in Ludlow, Massachusetts, and later pursued her education at Boston University, where she accomplished her bachelor’s degree in fine arts. A meeting meant to highlight what residents hope a new superintendent will bring to the table ended up focusing on the Springfield School Committee itself at times.
