Boat accident near Courtney Campbell Causeway leaves one dead

TAMPA, Fla. — One person was killed in a boating incident in Tampa Bay near the Courtney Campbell Causeway on Saturday.

The accident happened just before 6 p.m. on Saturday.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), received a report of a single vessel boating incident in Tampa Bay near the Courtney Campbell Causeway in Hillsborough County.

The FWC, Tampa Police Department, and Tampa Fire Rescue all responded to the scene.

After suffering consecutive losses in the Stanley Cup Final to the Tampa Bay Lightning in his last two seasons with the Dallas Stars and Montreal Canadiens, respectively, Corey Perry is banking on his rival continuing its run of success. According to reports, the veteran winger has reportedly signed a two-year contract in Tampa Bay.

It's unclear how much Perry will earn on the agreement.
